Project Dance: Remembering CING-FM -
The Rhythm of the City The Dance Music Station The Hit Music Station The All Hit SuperStation
However you remember it, it was one of Canada's most innovative radio stations. It brought CHR to Canadian airwaves for the first time and launched the careers of countless Canadian artists.
This website was created in order to provide a permanent historical record of CING's achievements throughout the early 1990's. Based in Burlington, Ontario, the station became known as Dance 108 in September 1991. Previously, the frequency had been dedicated to oldies and known as CING Stereo 108. Countless personalities passed through the station, beginning with Wayne Williams, and many who are still heard on various radio stations in the GTA today. Due to strong competition and poor ratings, the station eventually switched to a country format.
The On-air Personalities Eventually, we hope to have a complete database of all on-air personalities at the station: their background, what they did and when, and where they are now. Some of this information is available on the web, but if you have anything to contribute, please see below.

This temporary page was uploaded on May 17, 2005. The webmasters are looking for any slogan, logos, program names, memories, playlists, charts, innovations and information about the station's on-air personalities. If you are able to contribute to the project, please email webmaster@dance108.com. |
